Restorative Yoga

Are you feeling run down?

Overstretched?

Stressed?

Like you need a bit of time for yourself…?

Do you have chronic illness?

Feel too tired to move?

Crave a magic wand and a reset button?

Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that focuses on inducing deep states of rest that support repair and rejuvenation.

It could be just what you need.

A 2-hour session where all postures are designed for gentle release.

And the movement is soft and so minimal it’s almost non-existent.

The benefits of a restorative yoga class include:

1. Stress reduction: Restorative yoga helps to calm the mind and relax the body, which can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

2. Improved flexibility and range of motion: The gentle stretching and movement in restorative yoga can help to improve flexibility and range of motion, especially in areas of the body that are often tight or tense.

3. Improved sleep: Restorative yoga can help to promote deeper and more restful sleep, which can have a positive impact on overall health and well-being.

4. Increased mindfulness and self-awareness: The focus on breath and body awareness in restorative yoga can help to increase mindfulness and self-awareness, which can lead to greater emotional resilience and improved mental health.

If you think a Restorative Yoga session may be just what you’re looking for, then join us at the Relax Yoga Studio where

2 hour “Deluxe Restorative Yoga” sessions are held monthly.

What to expect at Restorative Yoga:

At Relax Yoga, Restorative Yoga classes are capped at 8 students per class to ensure you get all the space and attention you need from your teacher.

You will enter through the front door into our peaceful studio space where you’ll be greeted by your teacher who will mark you off the roll and show you how to set up for your session.

She will hear any concerns, answer any questions, and support you right through the class.

Restorative Yoga postures are often held for 5-30 minutes using props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps, cushions, and chairs to support the body and ensure relaxation and ease.

Your Restorative Yoga teacher will help you achieve your ultimate comfort in each pose by respectfully guiding you to use props to support your body type and needs – whatever they may be.

Then your teacher will hold the space while you and your classmates rest in that position.

Sometimes there will be guidance to breathe or observe your body and mind, parts of the class will include music, and there will be periods of silence.

Restorative Yoga postures are specifically designed to induce feelings of safety and calm.  If you are not comfortable you are invited to move and will be assisted to adjust.

Your Teacher:

Tina is a dedicated yoga practitioner since 2002 and teacher since 2008. With a diverse background and training from various renowned teachers, Tina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classes. Her approach combines traditional yoga practices with adaptations for the modern body, making her classes accessible and beneficial for everyone.

Her classes focus on creating a relaxed atmosphere where students can work at their own pace without pushing beyond their limits. She believes that yoga is a work-in, not a workout, and aims to help her students develop internal strength, self-awareness, and overall well-being.

In addition to physical postures, Tina incorporates Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound) and Sound Healing techniques using crystal sound bowls and various instruments to help students relax and retune their bodies. She has also completed Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher training and teaches children as well as adults.

Throughout the 2 hours of relaxation and restoration she will make sure you are comfortable and well supported. .”
