A fantastic mixed gender class of Pre-Teen and Teen aged kids where every student develops to become a valued member of wholesome community of GREAT friends.
Yoga enhances positive social and emotional development at what can be a tumultuous time. As we nurture development of a strong sense of self, students develop an invaluable tool box which they are taught to call on for improved focus, emotional balance and deep relaxation during stressful times.
Through physical practice (yoga postures) students maintain suppleness, mobility and coordination as their bodies rapidly grow. They build confidence in their physical capabilities and maintain strength of body which becomes also, strength of character.
We aim to develop in this age group a level of self love and self respect that leads to them making empowered choices as they navigate the various pressures of High School.
Suitable for kids aged between 10 and 15 who will thrive in a safe and non-competitive environment where they are gently challenged and held to their true potential.

This class is a safe environment, we can say our fears or what we like and won't be judged. I love how supportive Tes is, she helps me doing my handstands, I love that no matter what you do she will understand and helps you. The activities that we do are fun and I wish that we could do more.
I like to keep coming back to yoga because it's really fun and relaxing. I also like to keep coming back to how because you get to learn now poses.
Our teacher Tes is amazing, and she really knows how to make something fun and make someone calm.
It is true that Yoga is a great mode of exercise to encourage physical development for our children, but every kid’s yoga class is planned with an intention which brings so much more than movement and exercise.
Yoga provides mental, emotional and social development to our kids with core values of Kindness, Honesty, Generosity, Gratitude, Contentment and Respect for Self and Others.
At Yoga we teach a host of practical tools including movement, breath work, positive thinking and meditation to develop healthy bodies and healthy minds.
The yoga environment is safe, loving and non-competitive, the perfect place to calm down and learn to truly RELAX.
We aim to gently guide every child to find and be the best version of themselves.
The benefits of yoga come with practice, many come at a subconscious level and as children develop their yoga practice we see them begin to draw their yoga skills into their everyday life.
People come to yoga for many reasons. Some of the reasons our parents bring their children to yoga are:
All the Kids, Teens and Family instructors at Relax Yoga are fully qualified Yoga Teachers with comprehensive Post Graduate Training in teaching Yoga to Children. We genuinely LOVE the kids and work together as a team to provide classes for ALL kids to enjoy.
Q. Can I watch the class or do I drop and go?
A. Our Pre-Teens and Teens tend to prefer to leave their parents outside, but in our Junior classes we love to have parents watching and listening to our dialogue so you can take it home with you. That said, many of our parents prefer to drop their kids off and that’s perfectly fine too. If you drop off we ask that you ensure your child has been to the toilet before class and that you pick your child up from the door of the studio at the end of the class.
Q. What should they wear?
A. Many of our kids just wear their school uniform – others like to change. As long as they can move freely it doesn’t matter. We practice bare foot so no stockings and skirts please.
Q. What do they need to bring?
A. A water bottle and that’s all. We have everything they need at the studio.
Q. Can my child join a class when they are not within the age range of that class?
A. It depends on the child. Some children will show signs of being ready for an older class and when they do we will move them up. We understand that it is convenient for siblings to practice together but classes are programmed specifically for the age group specified. Children younger may feel left behind and frustrated if they can’t keep up, children older very quickly become bored when the program doesn’t match their maturity. If you feel your child would be better in a different age bracket we are open to discussion.
Q. Can my child start mid-term?
A. Subject to availability of space in the class – YES!
Q. How much does it cost?
Please check the pricing listed with the class descriptions above.
Q. How do I book in?
A. By clicking on the link next to the class descriptions above.
